Seahawks announce throwback uniforms in 2023

The 2023 season will feature the Seahawks donning throwback clothes from the 1990s, the team announced during Sunday's game versus the Raiders.

When the Seahawks relocated into Lumen Field in 2002, they abandoned their customary attire, and in 2012, they underwent another change.

Due to the league's "one helmet" rule, the Seahawks were unable to wear throwback uniforms over the years.

Throwbacks have been worn by teams that could readily modify their helmets to match with them, such as by just switching off decals.

But the Seahawks, who have worn a base blue helmet in recent years rather than a grey one from 1976 to 2001,

We couldn't accept throwbacks very readily because helmets can't truly be painted during the season.

But as of this season, the NFL no longer enforces the one-helmet requirement. Due to supply-chain concerns, Seattle was apparently unable to attend Throwbacks this year.
