Jourdan Lewis, a cornerback for the Dallas Cowboys, is expected to miss the remainder of the season. It is due to a foot injury he sustained during the fourth quarter of the team’s 24-6 victory over the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Lewis underwent surgery Sunday night for a Lisfranc issue to his right foot, according to sources. With 8:25 remaining and the Cowboys leading 10-6, Lewis intercepted Lions quarterback Jared Goff, which led to the injury.
Lewis was able to intercept the low pass intended for wide receiver Tom Kennedy, the third of Dallas’ defense’s five second-half turnovers. Lewis eventually had to be carried to the locker room after requiring assistance getting there.
He was replaced by rookie DaRon Bland, who recorded an interception against the Washington Commanders on October 2, after missing one game due to a hamstring strain.
Lewis was replaced by Bland on Sunday, however the Cowboys also have veteran Anthony Brown who could play in the slot with Kelvin Joseph shifting outside and last year’s second-round draught pick, Bland.
